Creative Workshops

Why create?

The adventure, challenge and joy of creating, in whatever form it takes.

Creative Workshops

As a performance and visual artist I have experienced the wonderful flow of creativity, as well as the challenges and deep dives of the creative process.

I facilitate environments for people to tap into their own creative thinking or making, whether that’s in a learning process, a team meeting or a creative-making process.

I offer a variety of Creative Workshops for small and large groups. Our learning can take leaps and bounds when we are in a relationship with our creative ideas. My job is to help people and organisations through this process, unleashing innovative ideas and making them relevant to our everyday experience and today’s world

I established ‘Gatherings’ in a salon style in 2019 as a way to meet artists in an informal setting with simple food provided at the event.  Conversations flows and inspiration might emerge, as stories are shared. As the pandemic starts to ease these enjoyable events might continue.

Creative Facilitation workshops

The purpose of a Creative workshop is to encourage participants to develop their skills in creating engaging, participatory and creative content for their future clients. The aim is to inspire and motivate participants in an enjoyable and playful learning process.

Participants practice tools such as storytelling and creative explorations and relate learning theory to real life practice.

Magical Map Making

The purpose of the My Magical Map workshop is to access a deeper sense of ourselves in the present moment and to help navigate our possible future paths.

We use mark-making with charcoal on paper, clay-modelling and simple embodiment, as well as words, to create our own magical maps, using an actual map as a metaphor.

Participants leave with a new sense of direction and possibility gained through playful self-enquiry.

Mikala provides creative and innovative facilitation with a good portion of practical steps to leave with. I would call that empowered learning.

Making a magical map in Mikala’s workshop was both stimulating and creative.

I loved the mark making and, as a storyteller, the working with words and forming a story was deeply satisfying.
